Homelessness 101
District 1 recently hosted a Homelessness 101 workshop for MV residents.
Some Important numbers to know:
911 should be reserved for emergency calls only. If someone is unsafe, a danger to themselves or others, needs medical attention, is passed out, or if a crime is being committed, please call 911.
If it is not an emergency, please call the Homeless Connections Hotline at 210-207-1799. This line is available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and they will connect you with our DHS Outreach Specialist who can also coordinate with other service providers. 311 also works for this, but the Hotline will get a faster response.
If it is after hours, but not an emergency (such as nuisance noise), then please call SAPD’s non-emergency number: 210-207-SAPD (7273).
