welcome home
Founded in the late 19th century, the Monte Vista neighborhood has been a home to thousands of residents over the decades and continues to be a beacon of architectural pride for the city.
The Monte Vista Historical Association (MVHA), founded in 1973, provides education, assistance, and a forum for your voice to be heard as it relates to your home, street, business, or neighborhood.
Thanks to all for a wonderful 2019 Monte Vista Home Tour on November 16. The next Home Tour will be in 2021. Go to Events for our next fun time- the December 5 Holiday Market, free and open to the public from 4-7 p.m. at the San Antonio Library Foundation office, 625 Shook. Third Thursday for MVHA members will be December 19.
Monte Vista has proudly stood as a shining example of community, preservation, mixed land-use and brotherly and sisterly love for over 100 years. Our historic gates, quaint fixtures and gorgeous tree-lined streets provide a solitude from the hustle and bustle of every day city life.
The MVHA is working on the next 100-year chapter of our neighborhood’s rich history as we continue to focus on what is most important: family, friends, and neighbors. We continue to provide valuable education and support all in the name of historic preservation.
