March Educational Walking Tour

  • 233 Bushnell Avenue San Antonio, TX 78212 USA (map)

Learn more about the development of the Monte Vista neighborhood as we walk, sharing stories and architectural highlights in San Antonio's 3rd oldest designated historic district on March 12.

At 1 pm this tour will begin at the front doorsteps of the San Antonio Public Library's historic Harry Landa Library, continuing across the street to its contemporary, The Bushnell Apartments.  The walk continues North on Shook, noticing distinctive architectural periods from the Gilded Age through to the Tudor one stories.

The route takes you across McCullough to see the styles of different developers and architects.  We will stop for a rest and refreshments on Lynwood in the garden of a friendly Monte Vista Historical Association member willing to offer us hospitality.

The final leg of the tour takes you South on Belknap and winding back to an East/West block toward the Landa Library.

20 people max per tour. Led by professional tour guide Bruce Martin.

The tour is completely outside and attendees must be able to walk the tour.

Tickets can be purchased here.
